Course Description
Learn all you need to know in order to build a perfect cake tier as your canvas for creating fantastic cakes, and learn fun techniques to add simple, edible decor to bring your cake from boring to exciting!
From tips and tricks needed to bake moist and delicious cake layers, making delicious and perfect buttercream and ganache from scratch, building a gorgeous tier free from bulging and sagging, as well as learning some basic piping techniques, adding ganache drip and some other fun simple techniques to add easy and fun decoration to make your cake awe inspiring and drool worthy!
- Heating Core (only 1 heating core is needed for this course, though 2 of them are recommended)
- 6” round x 3” deep cake pan (only one 6” round pan that is 3” deep is needed for this course, though 2 of them are recommended)
- Electric Mixer (any electric mixer with standard beaters will do, though a stand mixer is recommended for ease of use)
- Kitchen Scale (Any kitchen scale that includes weight in ounces and grams will do)
- Wilton Cake Leveler
- Wilton Angled Spatula (any size/brand will do)
- Johnson Level & Tool (any level that can sit on top of a cake will do - also not required but recommended)
- 2, 6.5” round cake acrylic discs
- Tall Bench Scraper
- 1, 6” round cake cardboard
- 1, 10” round cake cardboard
- Cake Turntable (not required but recommended)
- Petal Icing Tip
- Disposable piping bags
- Sprinkles (optional)
- Cherries (optional)
- Macarons (optional)
